Java & Ink was founded in 2022 because I needed the flexibility to leave my corporate career and be present for my mother, Jean, after her dementia diagnosis. Walking alongside her through the end of her life, three years later, left me completely unprepared for the physical and emotional realities of those final hours, which is why I wrote When Dementia Nears the End. Written in clear language and from the heart's perspective, it explains how the final stages of dementia can unfold differently and helps answer the questions that feel hardest to ask. It's the honest, compassionate resource I wished I had while I was in that room, and I hope it brings comfort to other families and caregivers during the same season.
